logo Barcelona Provinical CouncilBarcelona Provinical Council (DIBA) is a public body that encourages progress and well-being among the citizens of the province of Barcelona. It takes a direct role in providing services (technical, economic and technological help for town halls) and, above all, in cooperation with town halls. Its Environmental Department is responsible for planning and developing environmental policies on climate change mitigation and sustainability, on environmental evaluation and management, as well as on environmental education. Moroever, DIBA participates in various IEE projects, including:  EURONET 50/50 MAX,  SEAP+, SERPENTE.

It promotes energy efficiency and RES use on the local level. It also operates on the European level by participating in various EU Community projects. ALESA’s activities include organization of dedicated conferences, seminars, meetings and workshops, dissemination of good practices, informing on possibilities of obtaining co-financing for energy- related projects. The Agency also plays active role in the development of common actions with schools, universities, training institutes and other educational centres.
